New items in shop

I will be adding lots of new supplies to my ETSY shop. I'm also working on some projects I have been thinking about for a long time. For example, I want to make a Cabinet of Curiosity shadow box. And I haven't forgotten my promise of a blog give away! This one is going to be personalized! I'm sorry I haven't been making my blog rounds lately. My etsy shop is keeping me soooo busy! Which is a very good thing but I do miss everyone!

Booth Redo

Shame on me for taking so long to post! I have been redoing my booth. I also was given an old drafting table for my studio! Thank you so much Roxanne! So I decided to redo my studio yet again. (I have no idea what possesses me sometimes.) I got rid of the over sized Office depo desk and added a little charming one. So as soon as I tame the HUGE mess I have made, I will post pictures. I will be having a give-away soon so stay tuned! Oh and to answer a few questions about the pictures I have posted in the past. Most of the nature ones come from state parks. We are very lucky here in Texas to have wonderful parks. I do not live in the country but in the middle of freaking town. We really hope to move to the country in a few years however.

A Me Day

This weekend my hubby took the boys hunting and left me all by myself. So Saturday I did all my favorite things. I spent hours at the library (I'm such a dorky book worm), went junking, and then spent the day at the local state park. I was really looking forward to a day at the park. This weekend was gorgeous! It was about 74 degrees and sunny. But, the park was cram packed full of city slickers. I learned the down side of having such a cute dog. People especially high pitched squealy girls kept managing to find me and scream "can I pet your doggie?" My
dog scrappy doo does not like girls. I think it has something to do with the high pitch squeal. So I would have to gently tell them no then retreat further into the wilderness hoping for a small amount of quite and privacy. I saw no wildlife at all. Possibly also do to all the people and high pitch squealy girls. I'm just kidding. I would trade one, or two, maybe even all three of our boys for a girl. ;) Of course Scrappy-doo would not be happy about that!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone! This is the most amazing poem I found on this cool blog.

THE HEART OF NATURE,

by American poet Edwin Gordon Lawrence.

There's a soul in the breeze as it goes softly by,
A soul in the tree as it sends forth a sigh,
A soul in the bird as it carols its song,
And a soul throughout Nature the whole day long.
Then list to this soul as it beats out its tune,
The tune which is heard in December and June,
In all the wide places of land and of sea,
Of river and mountain, of sky and of lea.
To those who in sympathy, joy, love and truth
Attune themselves gladly with fervor of youth
With the great soul of Nature pulsating life,
Reverb'rating strength through the channels of strife,
Will be given a pleasure of infinite joy,
A thrill of delight which no pain can destroy.
So go close to Nature in quest of her heart,
Receive at her hands joys that ne'er will depart.

Great outdoors on the brain!

Yikes its been awhile. Our Christmas was good. Hectic as usual. I can't wait till things quite down and get back to normal. I have been making lots of tags. Everything is nature inspired. I am planning a trip to go to a cabin in the woods. I do not know where yet. I just know I REALLY need to find some time to get back to nature. I tend to go a little (ok a lot) crazy if I don't get my nature fix ever so often.

Snow, snow, fa la la

We had the best Thanksgiving EVER! Because it snowed! A lot! We rarely get snow here and even more rare is snow you can play in.(sticky snow) We all had so much fun playing in it. My 8 yr old son said this while we were driving "look mom a real snow man made of snow and everything" I said"what did you think they were made of?"(yes I am a bit of a smart ass.) He said "I have only seen plastic ones!" It was very cute. So I have totally been in a Christmas mood. I have been crafting and decorating. So much fun! My ETSY store http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5141120 is very full so stop by for Christmas goodies!

Booth Update

I'm getting my booth ready for Christmas. Here are some pics. I have a long way to go still. I do like how my cards in the metal feed trough turned out. I added moss and pine cones to it and put the cards on top. Very woodsy.

Make Everyday Magic

Make everyday magic is the slogan of my ETSY shop and how I try to live. Today I really felt that. I had one of my "really good" art days. Ideas just came pouring out. I am falling in love with banners, garlands, and hangy things. Most of the time you would see these types of things at parties or special events. I like to make them for your every day life. I would hope someone would put them up in there home and be reminded how special everyday can be, not just for certain occasions. I really love making banners for new babies of friends and family. So I hope you look for a little magic in your day today!

I have always wanted to spend Christmas in a cabin in the woods. I have not got the chance yet so I thought I would create something that had that feeling to it. So I introduce my Christmas in the woods collection. You can find it on ETSY. I will adding more as we get closer to Christmas.

I have been so busy lately preparing for Christmas sales that I thought I would take a break and have some fun. I added a hat and sign to this little guy. The sign says "believe" to remind me to believe in myself. I will be adding new items to my Etsy store. It was in the high 80s to day!!!! I cant wait for cool weather. Tomorrow is supposed to be 30 degrees cooler than today. I cant wait!
