Home Sweet Home

I thought I would show you some random photos of my yard. We are REALLY enjoying it this year. And look at my little chick's! They are growing so big. There names are: Ranger (after Tim Holtz co.), Sarah, Mighty, Sun, Pam, Scout, and Cry Baby. I also have four grown chickens. There names are Red, Peinquin,P.J., and Sissy. They are great egg layers. Well I'm off to make egg sandwiches for lunch. Hope all you chicks have a great week. hehe

Checking In

Omg I cant believe its been so long! Today is the last day of school here. YAY! We have been busy camping, boating, bbqing, putting up the pool, finishing our new patio, gardening, and trying to keep up with the jam packed last weeks of school.We are taking a break for Joli Paquet. We will be back with new tutorials and kits this fall. I'm already working on my fall stuff! I have been working on my shop a little. I have so many new things to add if I can just find the time. I will also be adding Fall and Halloween items soon. I know its crazy but last year Halloween items started to sell in June! I have a big sell going on in my shop right now. Some items are more than half off. I hope you all are enjoying the beginning of summer!

Happy Belated Mother's Day

Happy belated Mother's day! A had an absolutely wonderful weekend thanks to my two favorite guys. Saturday we drove three hours to Fort Worth and went to the zoo and shopping. We were shopping for stuff we lost in the fire so we went to Bass Pro and Cabela's. Sunday was just as fun too. My sweet hubby made me breakfast in bed with flowers. We saw all our family and went to my brothers house to celebrate my mom's birthday and mothers day. I was so proud of my little brother. He has bought a place on a lake and is fixing it up so nice. I hope you had a nice Mother's day too.

I have some really fabulous new items I will be listing in my shop within a few weeks. I will also give y'all an chicken update if I can get the babies to be still long enough to take pictures! You will not belive how much they have grown!

Baby Chicks

Seriously is there anything cuter than a baby chick butt? This bunch has been a handful and so much fun! I can't wait for the rainbow of eggs they produce in about 6 months.

Happy Tax Day! Is that an oxymoron or what!? Does doing taxes make anyone else want to break something? How about creating a faux broken glass embellishment for a Mother’s day craft? I just want to give a huge, big hug to all of you who commented on my last post. It really lifted me up to read all your sweet comments. It made me feel a million times better knowing even though it was just my backyard its normal to feel a little traumatized. Our insurance did cover everything so we are re-doing our whole backyard. I'm most excited to have a patio where we can all go outside, BBQ, eat, and relax.My son and two stepsons are growing so fast the extra room is seriously needed. Thank you all so much for sharing your experiences and kind words.

Fire

I'm behind on everything and I'm not getting much online time right now. Easter morning my family woke up to our backyard on fire. We had a large storage building full of camping equipment, sports equipment, and garden stuff. Well it burned to the ground and almost caught our house on fire. We had 6 baby chicks that were in a little pen close to the building and they died.A lot of our house windows got broke, power lines, phone lines, fences, and our trees got burned. It was really really scary.The fire was huge. I feel SO SO blessed no one was hurt and our house is ok. The fire fighters were awesome and our neighbors have been great. Now we just have a really nasty mess to clean up and a lot of things to replace. I'm really shocked at how deeply this has affected us. It sucks so much of our things are gone and we are so sad about the baby chicks but, most of all it was such a close call. We are even more deeply appreciative of each other and what we have. And I'm pretty much freaked out by fire now since I have seen first hand what it can do. Well, I will be back when things settle down!

Paper Crafts

I've been playing! I just thought I would show you some paper craft projects I have been working on. You can find a few of them in my shop. I will be listing the others soon. I have also been making cards and will be listing them too. But, today I'm staying outside. Its been in the 70's here and tomorrow is going to be rainy and freezing so I'm soaking up the sun while I can!

Spring

It definitely feels like spring here. The trees are blooming, I'm wearing flip flops, and everything is getting so green! I have put together a Spring Nest Basket kit you can find in my shop. I was inspired by vintage sewing baskets with millinery on them. All you need for this kit is glue, paint, and ink!
I thought it was also time for a give away! I had these postcards made with some of the photos I have taken. The photos have been published by Somerset magazines. Flea Market Boxes

I have listed some of the destash items I had in my shop. I am also starting to list spring and Easter items and I'm celebrating because I've lost 10% of my body weight! Whooohooo! I'm feeling a give away coming on so stay tuned!

A Little Bit Of Spring

Its starting to feel a little bit like spring around here. The birds are much more active, my chickens have started laying eggs, and the grass is starting to turn green.
