This months
Papertrey Ink blog hop challenge was to post your favorite project of 2011. Then to use that project as inspiration and make something else.
This is one of my favorite cards of the year. You can find that Make it Monday post
HERE. What I love about it is all the layers, soft colors, and tarnished silver glitter.
This is the card I made after being inspired from the first one. I think I like it even better!
I thought I would share a little on the process of how I make a card. I have read on forums and other places that some people have a little trouble incorporating pattered paper. I use it as the beginning inspiration. It is the first thing I choose. The rest of the project forms around it.
For both of these cards I had many layers that needed to fit together perfectly. The colors also need to work right with each other. What I do is stack the paper up with each one showing until I get the color compo I want. Then I lay each die on top so I don't get them mixed up. I have a Big Shot pro so I usually cut them all out at the same time.
I like the idea of using my own card as a starting point so much I made this. I took down everything from my Inspiration board and added wire. I then hung my favorite cards of the moment. I have already used it several times.
Thanks for stopping by! Happy blog hopping.
