Meet Millie

Yippee! I finally found a girl of my own. A dress form mannequin that is. Which is NOT an easy feat in this....well...shall we say "behind the times" town. I found her in an antique mall. She was old but looked new. No grungyness or style. So I took some tips from Heather and created Millie from Paris. I paid $15.00 for her!!! I found the gorgeous pink millinery flower at "THE WORLDS LARGEST GARAGE SALE" I will tell you THAT story in my next post. You can read another dress form success story here. And please go read my Friend Lori's hilarious story about how she acquired one! I was so jealous! Do you have your own "girl"? Or maybe a sweet story about one? Tell me about it in my comments. I would LOVE to see how you dolled up your gal!

I love your new gal!! You did a wonderful job making her look really old, and you dressed her beautifully!
I have a vintage one, my husband bought me for Christmas, and I adore her! Only problem is, even though she is little, most old prom dresses and stuff I have found to dress her in are even smaller than she is!!
I am sure you will enjoy Millie, and what an awesome price too!

Love the new girl. She must be good company in the studio. Does she cook and clean as well?

What a good find and I like her adornments. Sadly, I don't have a friend yet. Still on the look-out.
Come for a visit. Karen

Congratulations! I remember you mentioning that you really wanted to find one. Millie turned out beautifully, too! I love the belt with the pearls and everything!

I would love one, but our house is so small she would have to live in the dining room or living room and the spousal unit objects to things that are too "girly." I can't imagine why...

Millie is lovely! I've been looking for one of these dress forms for a while. I think I'm gonna have to break down and spend the $$$ for one. I keep thinking I'll come across one somewhere for a steal..but that's not the case. Millie looks very pretty!

I am looking for a girl like that. Before I got in to alot of vintage things I always ran across mannequins. Me looking for large furniture pieces I walked on by. Now I am obsessed to find one and can't find one I like. Is that not how it always goes~~
Enjoyed your blog
