My Muse

So in the last few months I have been working and creating non stop. I have been on a glitter, holiday high! There were just not enough hours to create all the things I saw in my head. But I certainly tried. My hubby teased that I had become a workaholic. But behind the teasing I think he missed me. Awww. I tried to slow down but just couldn't. So the inevitable happened, I got burned out. So in the last few days I have scrubbed our home, cooked, read (Twilight-OMG what a book!), had lots of family time and took long baths in the middle of the day! And now feeling mentally refreshed I'm back on track. I thought about WHY this happens. I know it happens to many artist. I was given some great advice to "not fight it, and just accept the strange flow of an artist". I know my muse will always come back and the ideas will pour into my head again. So I do those "put off till later" things during my burnout spells. And most important I keep a journal of my ideas. I'm starting to think maybe muses are REAL! You know like an guardian angel or a spirit guide. And maybe we share them with other people. That's why creativity comes in spurts. And why we seem to have a few artist "soul sisters". Well, its a fun thought! You never know. So if I haven't been to your blog or e-mailed you back I'm sorry. Its ALL my muses fault. I will be restocking my trees and adding new kits soon to my shop.

P.s. Thanks for all the tree love (tree orders in my shop) I'm thrilled to see others love trees as much as me!

Hey Brandy, I do the same burn myself out but keep a journal as I get the ideas at the weirdest times! Usually in the middle of doing mundane everyday things or the middle of the night then bamm you're drive comes back full force and you can't do anything but get it out of your head by creating! Awhh, I think it's because we have so many things we must do that it's just another multitasking we women must do! Love all your holiday items and can't wait to get my Joli kit.
Trying to keep sane in this swirling world of mine,
Kris

Hi Brandy - Yes, I experience the burnout periodically too. I have spent most of the last month cleaning and decluttering my home and it really feels good. It will make me calmer and more clear headed to create again.

By the way, I'm not a "glitter expert" - would you mind sharing your technique for glittering the bottle trees? I have a few tiny ones and I'm afraid to ruin them with a bad glitter job!

There is nothing like silver glitter to bring the magic alive :)

You really do have to take breaks some times! So glad you took some time for yourself and took a break. Your shop looks just beautiful!

I love my little tree!
I go thru the same process...I love the busy times but some times they are exhausting and the down times are hard for me to figure out what to do with myself!
Have a great thanksgiving!

Brandy,
I just want you to know that I totally love all your little Christmasness. (How's that for a word?) It seems that everything you make, is just what I love. Old, glittery and sweet colors. I know it must be hard to keep topping yourself, but you actually do a wonderful job. I hope you and your family have a Happy Thanksgiving.

It's so good to get away...because the ideas are 10x's as good after a break!
Wishing you a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday~
